Is my inverter fit for the grid operator's list in Estonia? Is my wallbox fit for the grid in Estonia?
Does my inverter work locally with Home Assistant and evcc? — the two marks at the right of each row
Loading the table…
✓ fit: on the list✓ fit by the maker's document — the grid operator decides✕ not fit: refused, expired or not allowed nothing known — never “not approved”Hover or focus a cell for the list's own word, a condition or date, firmware and the row.
Column head: list = the country has a public list · cert. = no list, the grid operator checks the maker's certificate · — = nothing to check for this class.Local = the best route on your network: control / read / cloud / brand route.Smart home = who talks to it, Home Assistant then evcc, each mark coloured by its own route: local control · local, read only · cloud only · brand route, model unconfirmed · empty = not found. Marks are GridFit's own glyphs, not the projects' logos.
Phases and rated power (kVA) come from the Austrian, Swedish and Belgian lists. No list carries MPPT counts: those are the makers' own datasheets, read so far for Deye, Fronius, GoodWe, Kostal, SMA (model codes exactly as the sheet writes them); “–” means not collected, never “none”. The list is the authority; this is a cross-reference.

How it works in Estonia
from Elektrilevi OÜ's own documents · the grid operator decides
- Who decides
- Elektrilevi OÜ (the distribution grid operator for most of Estonia); Imatra Elekter and VKG Elektrivõrgud publish no list
- The list
- Inverterite nimekiri (Elektrilevi) — Inverters whose use Elektrilevi has approved: for each listed model Elektrilevi has checked the data form, the data sheet, the LVD and EMC certificates, the CE declaration and the RfG / EN 50549 certificate. The page is undated; the Aku column says whether a battery can be connected.
- Is it a gate?
- De facto. The small-producer application form says the inverter model is to be chosen from the list on Elektrilevi's site; an older micro-producer form adds that a model not on the list needs an EN 50438:2013 conformity certificate and a type-test protocol attached to the application.
- Basis
- Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/631 (RfG), article 13 — type A requirements
- Vabariigi Valitsuse määrus „Elektrisüsteemi toimimise võrgueeskiri“ (the national grid code)
- EVS-EN 50549-1 (A-type technical conditions, 1 June 2023, section 8.1.2)
- Directives 2014/35/EU (low voltage) and 2014/30/EU (EMC); CE marking under Regulation (EC) 765/2008
- Thresholds
- ≤ 800 W: the A-type technical conditions do not apply (plug-in units); registration still applies (not confirmed)
- micro-producer: ≤ 15 kW three-phase or ≤ 5 kW single-phase
- small producer (type A): < 500 kW; type B–D from 500 kW have their own conditions
- above 1 MW: extra documents with the application
- Before switching on
- Before parallel operation: the inverter settings protocol and, where required, the electrical-installation audit (checked in the TJA register) or the builder's confirmation; the grid contract for a producer must be signed by both sides first.
What the model must meet
| Requirement | Value |
|---|---|
| Frequency ranges | 47.5–49.0 Hz for 30 min; 49.0–51.0 Hz unlimited; 51.0–51.5 Hz for 30 min |
| Rate of change of frequency | stay connected up to 2.5 Hz/s |
| Over-frequency response (LFSM-O) | active power reduction from 50.2 Hz with 5 % droop (40 %/Hz) |
| Under-frequency | output may fall at most 2 % of Pmax per Hz below 49 Hz |
| Loss-of-mains protection | U<, U>, U>>, f<, f> functions; 2019 recommended settings: U>> 1.15 Un 0.1–0.2 s, U> 1.11 Un ≥ 3 s, U< 0.85 Un 1.2–1.5 s, f> ≥ 51.6 Hz, f< ≤ 47.4 Hz |
| Reconnection | only after the grid frequency has stayed within 49.0–50.1 Hz for 60 s; ramp at most 10 % of Pmax per minute |
| Voltage-dependent output P(U) | linear reduction from +10 % of nominal voltage, reaching zero at +12 % |
| Reactive power | cos φ = 1 at the connection point by default; the operator may set a fixed cos φ, cos φ(P), fixed Q or Q(U) |
| Export limit | the control system keeps the exported active power under the contracted value, summed per phase; step response within the curve ΔP(t) = ΔP(0)·e^(−1.05·(t−0.8)) |
| Storage dynamics | smooth transitions between charging and discharging; power ramps of at most 10 % per minute near the charge limits |
How a model gets onto the list
Who applies: the manufacturer, importer or installer. send the documents to Elektrilevi's electricity-producers mailbox named in the listing guide (PDF below) — the listing guide (2023-12-06 (an earlier version dated 2019-08-15 has the same requirements without the mailbox)). Processing time: not stated.
- a properly completed data form (Elektrilevi's Excel form)
- the device's technical data sheet
- type-test reports, certificates and/or factory confirmations that prove the requirements above
- certificate of compliance with the low-voltage directive 2014/35/EU
- certificate of compliance with the EMC directive 2014/30/EU and/or the EN 61000 series
- CE declaration of conformity (Regulation (EC) 765/2008)
- certificate of compliance with RfG 2016/631 and/or EN 50549-1 (EN 50549-2 for medium voltage)
- a short description of the inverter settings that make it meet the grid code
- the manufacturer's contact
If the model is not on the list
The small-producer form points to the list; the micro-producer form says a model not on the list needs an EN 50438:2013 conformity certificate and a type-test protocol with the application. In practice the installer applies, and Elektrilevi checks the certificate against the requirements above. The list page says: if needed, contact customer service.
What GridFit will show as “fit by the maker's document”
A certificate or test report against EN 50549-1 (any national profile, or none) that shows the parameters above, plus the Estonian settings — this is what Elektrilevi checks for a model that is not on the list. GridFit shows the document; Elektrilevi decides.
